Dave, is this the individual that purchased your motor? I stumbled across these videos, and the sole comment was about the motor previously making around 275hp to the tires; I recall that number in a post about your car. A green Fiero with an LX9:
Sounds pretty great, although constant idle and vacuum sound like issues... gotta love big lobes. Referencing my WOT thread, this motor's sound under load would be just fine!
Happy Halloween to all.

Yep, he bought it a while back.
He's using 3500 manifolds VS the longtube headers I had so we're working out some bugs in the tune.

Just my personal opinion... Drifting is dumb. lol
I'd rather build a car to hook up and go fast than burn up expensive tires. In that respect it did very good.
Of course with a 4K+ Stall, 4.10 posi rear and half bald street tires it would slide around corners all day, It was light and handled very well. WAY better than my Nova.

i wouldnt be burning up new tires
. do you think removing the rear seats and the spare tire will make any difference? im sure it will but a sway bar would probs bring some of the weight back..

My friend who drifts uses new tires because used tires get burnt up too quickly. Even new tires won't last more than 3 times around the track.
Best to go out when it's raining as much as possible so you don't use up tires.'89 Firebird, 3500 Turbo, T56, 9-bolt/4.11

Agreed... I'm not saying it doesn't take lots of tallent to hold a car on that fine line of under control and completely out of control, because it does... But I just don't see it as a honest type of racing. Seems very wasteful as well as more of just a performance or show rather than really a "race"Originally posted by Superdave View PostJust my personal opinion... Drifting is dumb. lol

I dont look at it as racing, i look at it as an art, and simply a motorsport. I will drift and i will race but not drift race. Never EVER rush art.
