Aluminum heads swappable onto the 2.8 iron block?

I was wondering if the 2nd gen aluminum heads can be swapped onto the old 2.8?

they can if you swap the pistons as well. although you will need to use the whole top end (heads, intake, ect) and use the ecm and wiring harness, being you cant use a distributor (unless you make a custom intake)

Or even better you can do the above but use gen III components.

or just get a gen III engine and enjoy ~10-20% more displacement as well
