    Cam for 3.1l Gen 2

I have a 1990 Z24 Cavalier that I am up grading the engine. I tore it down and found a cracked block. I have a new short block coming. I have ported heads 10048696, intake and exhaust manifolds. I would like to put in a Comp Cam kit SK16-232-4. Will this work with this engine? I would also like input on head gaskets and do I need custom push rods if I go with a Cosmetic c5220-040 head gasket?

that cam will work in that engine, however id go for the larger 260h cam. i ran that in my 2.8 ironhead and it was pretty decent, with the larger engine and better flowing heads the 260h grind will work quite well. i would recommend you go for the K kit from comp, that will include matching valve springs, locks and retainers. i also ran the comp 1.6:1 roller tip rockers and pushrods. you shouldnt need custom length pushrods with the thinner head gaskets, however its something you need to check when you put the engine together.

Ok Thanks Sharkey, I have new SS valves and new springs too. I also did a thermal barrier on the combustion camber and exhaust port. I mostly wanted a little more power and better gas mileage. I bought New Accel fuel injectors. Next is a custom tune for the eeprom chip. I will need some help on that.
