    '94 3.4 iron heads to '94 3100 aluminum heads

    I'm looking to swap the heads from a 1994 3100 beretta z26 onto my 1994 3.4 firebird. What compression ratio will I be looking at? and which head gaskets should i use. Is there anything else I should know? I am also swapping the upper and lower intake manifolds from the beretta onto my firebird. Thanks!

      It's not quite as simple as that. The iron heads intakes and the aluminum FWD intakes are very different and aren't interchangeable. On the plus side, your EFI computer is already setup for DIS so you don't have to worry about not having a dizzy. Only the Camaros and Firebirds with the 3.4s can do that without a computer swap.

      You're going to need to swap not only the heads, but the intake plenum upper and lower. You're also going to need to get custom pushrods made up, swap pistons, and probably a few other things. Your setup would then be a hybrid.

        hmm, is it possible to double stack head gaskets? If not which pistons would I need to make this possible? I am switching to the 3100 upper and lower intake manifolds and aluminum heads.

            You cna installt eh alum heads with iron pistons. You will have high compression but it will work fine with premium gas. Or install a cam with more overlap and that will reduce cylinder compression and also give you more high RPM performance

              you would need 3400 pistons if you want aprox 9.5:1 compression. ironhead pistons will yeild you around 12:1, IMHO, to much for a daily driven street car.
