And finally, here is one of my heads after porting the chambers. I was looking to decrease compression a little, since I will be running a SC, so that's a non-issue for me. I got forged pistons with the same dimensions as a stock 3400, and the port work will prbably take me down to around 9.2-9.3 or so. Even if it takes me all the way to 9.0, I would still be happy. With the SC, i won't have t worry as much about the defficiencies of the stock inake (although it is a fully ported 3400 intake, which is pretty good to begin with). I have plans at some point to fab up a custom intake manifold with much shorter, fatter runners, to really take advantage of the gen3 heads.

      Quaddriver,
There are two different versions of the SFI intake. The early 3100 intake, and the 3400/late 3100. The early 3100 intakes aren't much better than the gen2 intakes, but the 3400/late 3100 intakes are much better, with larger runners. I don't know the axact year they changed on the 3100, but it was sometime areound 200-2001. When they did this, the 3100 went from ~160HP to ~175HP.

Here's a pic of the early 3100 SFI intake (don't remember where this pic came from, might be Chris'). Note that there are two bolts around every intake port.

Here's the 3400/late 3100 intake (One bolt per runner, larger runners):

Those heads look pretty good and pretty much the way I had planned on shaping my chambers.

I wonder if even using forced induction, like the 2 of us are planning will hinder or not notice the inefficiancies as much, or would benefit for intake designs that work well with N/A, I'm kinda split on the issue.

looking at the pics, Im thinking it was the former, not the latter, but it was not polished - u do that? if so you can clean that up, you get a buffing wheel and there is some paste crap u use on rusty cycle pipes - it will make it look like a boats SS prop
