    Almost forgot about my thread.

I know I havent continued it in a while... primarily because I am at a standstill until spring time when the car isnt wedged against the backwall of my parents garage. To the best of my knowledge/memory the only parts left to acquire is the engine side dogbone mount (driver side), a dogbone, and a set of spark plug wires for a 3400 - the 3500 wires wont connect to the DIS coils we are familiar with. Other than that I think it will come down to some water and vacuum hoses and I'm sure some small odds/ends.

In other news, I finally bought (well in process of closing on) my own place with nice big 2 bay of my own to work in The house will surely push back or at least slow the swap down since I'm not gonna have spare change to throw at cars anymore. Luckliy, I've already collected about 90% of the parts necessary.

If I use only 2 bolts on the a/c bracket even if they are a high grade I'm still a little worried about using the dogbone mount on the passenger side. If I use the DOHC rear mount, the pushrod lower mount and a single dogbone on the drivers side is it going to be too sloppy?
If you use the TDC rear lower mount I can gurentee that there will be absoultely no slop. Hell you can even run it without any torque struts its so stiff. But....I wouldnt advise it.In fact you may have to push the engine a little to get the torque strut brakets on the tie bars because the engine will sit so vertical.

The LX9 dampener is very large. Get one from a 3.1/2.8/3100/3400 gen2/gen3 and swap it on. You don't need the 24x tone ring or sensor because you are not OBDII so even the gen2's will work. Not sure why they went to a larger one overdriving the accessories on the LX9...

This may be a question for CNCGuy but I read somewhere on the forum that a 3400 crank pulley is necessary to work with the TCE external crank trigger? Is it true that my LX9 factory crank pulley/dampner will need to be swapped with one from a 3400? Also read that the 3400 pulley is a bit smaller hence underdriving the accessories in comparison to the LX9 pulley. If I do need the 3400 pulley will ANY 3400 or 3100 pulley work or only certain years/makes/models?

Also I used the 'search this thread' feature in PCGuys thread and found that I will need to mount the oil filter to the block. I'm not sure of the specifics on it yet as I have never removed an oil filter adapter. I also tried searching for crank pulley but didn't come up with any relavent hits to what I am asking above.

I would not consider any downward adaptor for the w body, just no room in that direction...The regular GEN3s have a fitting screwed into the block. I am thinking that if you swap the cooler/adaptor with this fitting, then you can run just the oil filter. I would definatley use a minivan spec 3500 as a model since thier frames and exhaust routing is similar.

Ah I missed that you had an oil cooler on there. Never seen one before. Yeah I could see that would be too low with the oil cooler on there. With just the standard adapter it's about right, anymore and yeah that would be too low.

Here is a pic of the adapter, the oil cooler adapter and a PF52. Its hard to tell from the angle, but it sat just below the oil pan.

Brad, strange, with the angled adapter a PF52 is protected just fine on my car... It sits above the subframe...

Lorenzo, the 3500 will not accept the 3100/3400 style oil filter adapters... But maybe they have something like you mentioned for the van 3500s. I was not aware that another adapter is put on to put the filter right on the block. I plan to swap my 3100 adapter over to the 3400 engine on my stand which has the filter right on the block. Good to know.

I used to live, breath, and eat W-bodies and 60 Degree V6s....Like Driving standard, once you learn you never forget. But I had alot of good people helping me to solve problems. Not for nothing, I was the only one pissed off enough to do this swap years ago. I really gotta get back in the game...

Like I said there is a fitting on the GEN 3 to screw the filter direct onto the block, You can fasten it with an allen key. Infact maybe a minivan 3500 will have that part readialy available. Run a PF 52 if you can otherwise a PF 47 will suffice.

The TDC oil cooler has the wrong dimensions and wont mount up corrently. Mainly due to the A/C being in the way. With the pushrod engines, an oil cooler is not nessesary but if you can find it run with it.

The torque strut bracket you need is from a '96 + engine, and the A/C bolts through that...So you really need the A/C to make this all work well.... Like I said maybe you can just away with just chopping the bottom half of the bracket and using 10.9 bolts to secure the bracket to the block with only 2 bolts.

It depends... On my Beretta, with the oil cooler sandwich adapter, the PF52 sat down too low and was unprotected against road debris. So in that case, the PF47 is better!
