Your hobbies were correcting moderators right. Well mine is moderating assholes that think they are entitled to something for nothing. I owe you 0 respect, or consideration. Exacty what you gave me.

Well he is right, its got that piece that goes into the lower and the tube on the other side. After looking at it though now I know why I don't remember it. I disconnected the arm from the plenum and took it off without removing the throttlebody or anything.

Was that directed at me?.......if so.......no sir, at least not since 1996 when GM was good enough to replace the original engine that failed.

I have seen some that "cut off" the coolant pipe and NEATLY put a barbed pipe fitting into the lower intake and join the heater hose to an extention. Thats what I remember now about how they eliminated that TB heater.

Right, you have a 91-95 style. In 96 they changed the intake manifolds and it has that arm. I just don't recall the coolant lines being like that on my 96 though

Hmmmmmmmmmm...........have my doubts about that......doesn't look anything like the intake assembly on my LQ1.

Still too much snow to get the hood to unlatch so it has to wait. If its like the above, then it has indeed been too long. He says its off a 3.4 DOHC. Makes me wonder if its 97 only or something. They did change the lifters/cam carriers for 97 as well compared to 96.

just for reference: that looks exactly like the TB gasket i have sitting in my tool box at work for my 3.5L DOHC throttle body, that's going on my 3500 intake.

EDIT: looked it up, it does look exactly the same, but there's different parts numbers. 61304 is the 3.5L gasket, 61029 is the 3.4L gasket. crazy how close they are though. not saying anything about anyone just was wondering is someone wasn't confused abotu what motor they were working on LOL. sorry haha

    And the attitude continues...

Anyway, I'd love to see a picture, or several, and will gladly add it to our photo gallery for others to check out. We are always looking for more content that will help out other people.

As far as Ben goes, he is actually very knowledgable on these engines, but obviously hasn't worked on a 96-97 in awhile, so was going back to what he knows about the 91-95 engines. Myself, I've never even touched a DOHC, so I stay out of most of these discussions.

Honestly, when a question is brought up on a forum that I don't know I don't answer it.

I don't see that from these guys, they were wrong about the coolant on the throttle body and they are wrong about bypassing the coolant line. The arm fits into the manifold, so you can't bypass it. Will get a picture if anyone would like to see it, I have an extra in my garage.

If you don't know what you’re talking about then keep it shut. Don't try to be a know it all because you just make an ass out of yourself.

Now you are antagonizing me!? I haven't done anythign wrong except state the facts.

Seriously, this has escalated way too far. Lessoned learned, don't try and correct a moderator when they are wrong. They'll just edit or delete your post.
