  • still running poorly

this is a continuation of my other post about code 13.

my car is running sluggish(very), very close to stalling idling in gear. extremely slow, feels like a 2.8.

i replaced the o2 sensor - car still ran poorly
replaced fuel filter - no change
tested fuel pressure - 43+ psi at all rpm, hot, cold, under load, no load, driving. never below 43psi.
replaced coil packs and module - no change
checked plug wires for damage and arcing, no problems(less than 4k on those and plugs)
removed cat, not clogged and no change.

where do i go next? ohm out all the injectors?

Does it sound like it's missing on one cylinder? Or is it just rough in general?
Okay now, that's enough of that.

okay, just read your other post... Try this just for the hell of it... Take a jumper cable, and run it from a good place on the engine to the minus(-) terminal of the battery. Maybe all your grounds rotted away... Also might want to try that with the o2 sensor - sometimes with a bad connection between it and the manifold, it "floats" around the .5v reference the ECM sends it.
Okay now, that's enough of that.

yes ohm out the injectors. 43 psi sounds a lil high for when the car is running. key on engine off it should be 41-47 psi. check it that way and check if u have vacuum to your fpr, or if there is gas on the vacuum side of the fpr

i cant get a miss from any cylinder, its just rough in general. the grounds are definitely good, i have more ground straps added and nothing on my car is rotted away(never sees winter or rain, you can eat off the underside)

its raining today, i will ohm the injectors and check the vacuum line for the regulator tomorrow or later if it clears up.

when the car is running, try pulling each plug wire off one at a time, a simple balance test may help figure out which cylinder (if any) is the cause of the problem, sometimes that can be truly helpful.

well. i pulled my plenum. all was well with gaskets, pcv, vac hoses, etc. injectors all ohm 12-13. however the back plugs looked kinda shitty. 4k miles on em. i heard a couple yrs ago that bosch platinums + 3.4's didnt work right but i put em in before i heard that and forgot what was in there(shows ya how much i drive the car). i put in 6 new AC plugs and it seems better, i was able to go out and spin the tires. its sluggish a little down low but i've yet to put the exhaust + cat back on. i would expect this from running the downpipe and nothing else. i need to go get a band clamp to put the converter back on from where i sawed the pipe behind it, then i can get an accurate ass-dyno test and make sure its all good.

Two things I would check your cam timing to see if it may have jumped (tensioner
troubles) and 2)- is the ECM well grounded and check it to see if moisture got in the connectors or ECM itself. I would bank on either one of these at this point.

Whoa! Dave! Never do a balance on modern ECMs! Never pull a plug wire while running. Get a cheap plug wire analysis tool. This technique used to work with points. Not anymore.
