  • QUAD4 LIFTERS INTERCHANGE??

I READ SOMEWHERE THAT I COULD REPLACE A BAD LIFTER WITH ONE FROM A 2.3 QUAD4 ENGINE? TRUE? THEY ARE EASIER TO FIND CHEAP.
92 Gran Prix SE 3.4 dohc that has a bad knock in front head. I think it is a lifter or rocker.

How does that effect the motor? Good or bad?

Pump up is the amount of give the hydraulic lifter has. Less is better.

I got 2 lifters from a running DOHC. They sell for like $12 or more but you can have 2 for $5 plus shipping.

""""FFP UD Pulley - FFP Chip - 8mm Taylor Wires - 160* T/stat - Dual 40 Series Flowmasters - - Hi-Flo Cat """" Which one of these mods help you the most? Which the least? Maybe while I have the engine down, I could do some preformance inprovements. By the way I'l take the lifters, check your email.

The chip by far, but the UD pulley is worth it too.

Talk to Bowtiekid, he has/had Quad 4 lifters on his Z34

Has anyone ever proven the 160 degree T-stat. Other than it would freeze you out in Canada. Burrrrr. Oh, FFP Poly Dog Bone....Awesome mod. Not for power, but better shifts, better throttle response and engine feel. Very Toit!

I heard that 180 should be the lowest you should go on T-stats. Going lower would help accelerate (a bad thing in this case) cylinder wall wear. Not to mention these cars run rich to start with as a safety precaution so they don't run lean, so dumping more fuel is only good for making more carbon build up. At least that is my $.02
