Compression tested engine

I tested my engines compression, here are the numbers:

1:150
2:180
3:170
4:160
5:170
6:160

Are those numbers good? The two mechanics with me said they were good, but i dont know if they're basing their opinion on the mileage.

Assuming this is a newer engine, are these numbers good?

PS: In case anyones wondering how the cylinders are numbered:

1-3-5

When I used to have my TDC it avereaged 175, lowest being 170 highest 180.

That 150 is pretty low, 160 being not that great but not bad. Cam timing will dictate the cranking pressure. I didnt check all mine, but the front bank was all 170s when I checked with the 13 degree exhaust retard.

Yours isn't in need of a rebuild though or anything, and its not mechanically bad, but its obvious its not a fresh motor. If it was in the 130 or lower on a few cylinder with the rest being in the 170 range, I would be concerned.

alright sweet, and that 150 was actually 170 ... my bad haha, damn keyboards...

The main reason i was wondering because the engine now has 310,000 km's on it and i wanted to see if it had been rebuilt, like the previous owner said... and im sayin it has been, so instead of spending the money on a rebuild ill spend my money on tune-ups and suspension upgrades, then when the engine needs a rebuild (or i run out of things to do) ill get some stronger internals and attempt boost.

PS: Also this is with the throttle closed, I've read that blocking it open is how your supposed to do it and will net 5psi more per cylinder?

I always do it closed, but have also heard to do it open. Since its not a 150 in there, it looks perfectly fine.

From what I know, all the numbers should be within 10% of each other to show the engine is in good condition. Yours are.
