  • Any reason at all to do this?! aftermarket FPR

Ive alway had some what lower fuel pressure on my 3.4 dohc , 37-42 is my range...Everything is new..just the way my car is i guess. Well anyways...has anyone ever put a adjustable FPR to increase fuel flow? Figure bigger exhaust open air filter and other mods..ur gonna need more fuel eventually. My car just runs very lean...thought maybe that would help before somthing goes wrong with the lean condition my engine sees.

New fuel filter , pump n pressure regulator....anything else that would make ur FP low?

Im waiting on a cap for mine so I can see how well one fits, and works. It will take quite a few mods to make more fuel pressure or larger injectors necessary. Ill have to see what my load time is for my injectors now.

How do you know that you are running lean? I find it hard to believe that when the DOHC runs so rich with stock tuning.

A few reasons, color of plugs , n i have low fuel pressure... I also have a/f ratio gauge that runs a lil to the left a stoitch

i would replace it with a new unit, but dont bump it up higher than stock. it throws everything WAY off. I did this to mine and i had to do a lot of tuning to get it back to where it should be. Like ben said, you dont need more psi for what you have. i am pushing way more than stock and i have the stock fuel pressure. the plugs should be pretty light unless you drive the piss out of it. since you have a ben/ffp chip, the plugs may look a little lean since lean cruise in enabled. i havent verified any change with mine, but leaner is leaner, so it could affect the way they look. anyhow, dont mess with the fuel press... you mess the tuning all up. you also cant trust those a/f ratio gauge... they jump around too much to be accurate, and they are only run off the stock O2S. you need a wide band to tell what is really going on.

With stock pressure, im hittig 9 ms load time on the injectors. Im sure stock is good for a bit more work still in my case. I dont know of anyone NA that needs more fuel pressure actually.
