  • Will run lean?new injectors?preassure reg?

    Got a 94 lumina z34,slightly ported and polished tb and maf,k&n filter,granatelli maf(not installed yet),borla cat back and carsound cat(for 95 z34 monte,not installed yet).

Will gasket match plenum to lower intake.

    What about running lean?do i need #30 injectors?adjt.pressure reg?
Any comments or recommendations will be appreciated.

    Thanks

RE: Will run lean?new injectors?preassure reg?

Running injectors lean will only make the engine run like crap.

There is more than just running injectors with less flow to save on gasoline.

In actuality running lean injectors will cause them to run harder because the computer sets the fuel advance and duty cycle to match as close as possible to stored data. In other words the lower flow injectors will sit in a higher cycle duty curve with a offset'ed fuel advance.

It may run lean for awhile, but after a set amount of time the injectors will come as close as possible to the ones you took out.

Lower flow or tighter spray pattern injectors with higher fuel pressure will run lean and typically stay that way.

The trick is atomization or complete vaporization point of saturation is the key to saving fuel.

Actually what I meant was if these mods will make the car run lean...

      Thanks

no it wont. most people do mods like that, and i heavily ported my intake and plenum and tb, and i had no cat, and high flow mufflers, and i was running stock injectors and the car didnt run lean. but it was carzy fast.

          Agree.

It all depends on how deep you go into an engine. You can always reprog the mem-cal.

You will need boost to need injectors, unless you do a lot of mods such as ported everything, headers, etc. Those mods you listed won't push your injectors that hard. Stock we have a lot of room to play with on fueling.

With the 94 MAF sensor you should have better adjustability to more airflow anyhow. If you have doubts doing an adjustable FPR will help, but i dont think you'll need them right away anyhow.

how many # are stock injectors?

There are tuners that you can plug inline with the o2 sensor and it tricks it in to thinking it runing right. But in reality it is where you want it. If you did that I recommend that you get mixture gage to help you program it.

                    96 Z34 3.4 SC DOHC Getrag, 284 5sd manual transmission, stage 3spec clutch, 97 engine, 97 pcm, S3 intercooler 1 of 1 Roots SC LQ1 in the world 8.5 psi.

You would lose all computer corrections though...which doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Tune it right and do the computer, not tricking it.
