Ok, so I am getting another 93 Z34 parts car from a friend. $250, he's used the front clip, drivers door, CV axles, and dash pad. Does not run, but trans is good. The tranny is going in my red car, but I figured since I'll have an extra motor layin around, I'll build it up as I get the time and money. Im thinkin of going with a 2.8 crank to get some more revs out of her, and make up a custom intake. What else should I do? I got a second job, and that will take care of both truck payments plus insurance and rent. So this will leave me with a pretty decent chunk of cash every month. What all else should I do to get this to be the best TDC at least in southern Wisconsin? Might possibly go with boost, but I'm not sure what car this will go into. If I can make it fit, there is a 77 MGB at the boneyard for 500 bucks I'd like to make it work in. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

RE: 3.4 build up
sounds neat; but just a note for you; MG's are not as light as you would think; in fact they are kinda heavy for what they are. (Had 5 of them; various yrs). Funny suspension (by NA standards, anyway) and single thickness rotors etc etc etc. check it out a bit before you get committed to it.
IIRC they are in the 2850-2900 lb range. If you are looking to make a sleeper you might consider something lighter or else plug in a V8........ just a sort of heads up.......
good luck

you might want to look into a Fiero if your looking for lightweight. I know their not THAT light, but if you got a coupe and stripped what you didnt want/need off of it and put the TDC in there I bet you'd be looking at 2700 pounds with almost everything on the car. I love mine and its not even tuned fully yet. Besides all of that, you can get Fieros cheap and theres a pretty good aftermarket/support for them. go over to www.fiero.nl to find out more. And by the way, hopefully I'll have something to throw at you when you get yours built up. The title of fastest 3.4 TDC in wisconsin wont be handed over easily
. I dont have anything right now, i know of at least 2 that are modded more than me in the area allready.
3.4 DOHC- 95 engine, custom intake manifold, custom cams, ported exhaust manifolds, Turbonetics T-62, Haltech standalone, 13.5 psi, air/h20 intercooler... yadda yadda...
1987 Fiero, ST lowering springs, KYB's, Clutchnet dual diaphragm 6-puck, custom paint, 18's with falken fk452 225 front Nitto NT05 245 rear. Should be around 450whp...

Whats wrong with the 3.0TT in the VR4s??
They are finally getting the praise they deserve if you ask me. The Supra has been over rated since that stupid movie came out... and the resale prices reflect that. This is a very stout shortblock, and if it wasn't for the platform around this motor, I think you would hear more about it. Weighing in at over 4000lbs with a passenger makes it hard to brag about 320HP stock... also all the gimmicks on the car make is a mechanical nightmare...
We will have our time in the lime light... some guys are sneaky... there will be an uprising, I can't wait

I dont know about fitting it an MGB either as they are a nice fit for the pushrods. Frame modding might do it but would you really want to do that? You guys can go for fastest in wisconsin, im shooting for fastest on the planet:P Ok, maybe most power cause im sure someone will throw this motor in a super light setup and not need the power to go as fast.Ben

I know a guy who was putting the quad hi po engine in stripped chevettes; yes doing the drive conversion and everything. Said he got them under 1900 lbs (!!) which is racecar weight.
and they would GO!
anyway
a diversion; now back to the show.
