  • reground on my stock 3.4 cams/ engine question

i have my cams at crower right now and they need to know a little info. can you guyes help me out here is what they asked.

    * What is the O.D. if your lifter (bucket) ?

    * What is the valve stem size?

    * What is the measurment from the top of the keeper (valve lock) to the tip
of the valave. We need this to see if we can fit a lash cap on the tip of
    your valve.

    * Just to make sure we ware on the same page, 3.4 Chevy V6 dohc. 4-cams for
    one engine. Correct?

    .................................................. ....................

also i checked the clearnces on my rods to crank side clearance and some are 20 thousands. now the 94 gm manual say 7-17 and the 92 says 7-24 what should i go by and what are the difference. the engine getting the cams is a 94.

Let me know on the lash caps. Comp makes some as well though im not sure on the length. I think they will work. I was checking them out for my solid lifter dream. At about 40 bucks each, its gonna be a dream:P

If you can get some stock specs from them, that would be cool. thunder racing doesnt know how to get a centerline if its not a V8 (what a freakin waste!). Im curious what specs they recommend as well.

what specs you guyes need. also i talked to brian crower. he gave me a price of 100$ per cam *4 =400 plus i had to pay 15$ for shipping back. also had to have a special box made for the cams to go from florida to california and not get ruined. so about 500$ for the whole thing. dj at crower told me that he would try to keep something stock and go 20 thousands on something else because it is going to be a turbo car. but for a regular regrind i think he said 10,10. yeah let me know what specs you guyes need. i will e-mail him and get you the info no problem. hope they run good

              1991 Rod Clearance

              Hey d.o.h.c.

              On the 1991 3.4 DOHC
the ROD SIDE CLEARANCE IS 0.36 mm-0.64 mm (.014"-.025")
Check with GM to be certain of the right clearance.
