  • Pic's I found of my Custom MSD IGNITION WIRE & COIL Job!

    Hey Everyone,

I had found some pic's I had take of the Custom Ignition wire job and how I mounted the coils on my 3.4 DOHC. This is the way we run custom wires/ Coils on all our customers 3.4 DOHC's. The coils are mounted there to allow lots of room for the MSD Interface blocks to run the DIS-4 Module if they wish. The ECM you may notice IS relocated and the coolant recovery tank is in the empty space in front of the right wheel, in the bumper.

    Best Regards to ALL

How are those MSD coils working out? Accel are junk and josh didn't get his MSD coils to last more than a month...if they really worked at all right when he put them in.

Interesting place to mount it but you could keep it in the stock location and run the DIS-4. I didnt see the overflow tank in the pics but I may have missed it.

      There great!

      Hey Ben,

I have never had any bad MSD Coils. I have had mine in my car for 3 years. The only time I had a problem with any of these GM DIS Coils is when I DIDN'T USE Dielecrtic grease on the conectors and the red rubber insulator around the connector. I have used A LOT of MSD coils and honestly never had ANY bad ones yet.

Have you ever tried wasted spark COP using the MSD interfaces to drive the new coils? I like what you're doing, but a COP or 6 coil setup (possibly using LS1 or LS2 coils) would be neat too.

If you look closely there is a little aluminum pipe that goes from that filter to a rubber hose attached to the valve cover. The filter lets the PCV system suck clean air through there.
