Mine IIRC is right at 2000, but that's me babying it and not pushing on the brake much at all.. LOL The listed stall is 1650 I think. I plan to go with a 2095 probably from a W body buick century. Which would come out to about 2500 if the same rules apply on my car. So that sounds about right.
What lumina are you speaking of? Maybe the TDC 3.4L?

i'm fairly certian that the brake torque on a 3400 will be close to 2500 rpm on that converter. why not go with a converter out of a late 90s lumina or equivalent? my 97 brake torque was 2800.

Thanks!! So what is the stall of the 3400 with a 2050/2095? Or do you have to test that out and get back with me?

Well it's a 3.69 ratio already, and I can't go to 3.73 unless I swap out my final drive ring which also includes swapping back to the older 1-2 roller sprag and so on.... I'm not about to start changing all those parts to older revisions just for a measly .04 ratio change.
I can't remember what the 2095 brake stall's to, but I know before I couldn't get it too high before the car would start to creep, so I know now the brakes will hold it better so I can get a better number out of it.
I can tell you what a 2050 will stall to on a factory 3400... close to your power output, thats the converter I have in Ole Red... 2050 took the place of the 2095, but its almost exactly the same.
And for converters.

He has a FD9B you can choose from right on his list.
99 from TPUSA and 133 from bulkpart... (B21 with proper code) You decide... Just stay away from Viscous clutches, they don't work well in our application.

Well you could go to 3.73 FDR to help out too... LOL!
What's the 2095 brake stall to? I wonder what a 2095 would stall to on my engine, since I'm making less power obviously than you. That is the converter I'll be running when I get the new trans. That is unless they don't sell you the converter with the trans... In that case where should I look for one? Not looking to pay a ton for a new one, just a low mileage one would be fine with me. Ebay a good source?
