If you know anything about how tight a Beretta engine bay is you would have never suggested that
I'm thinking High compression and lots of P&P work...
Diamond 11.5:1 pistons net about a 10.8:1 CR with a 3400 bottom end and 3500 top end... That would probably help me out, but then I would have to be careful with how much nitrous I use.

Damnit... I guess I just need to do more to the motor then to compensate for the larger brakes... LOL
Hell I really only have a low compression hybrid with a cam, it's no more than that

Yup. That's as bad as going from Drag-Lites to steelies lol.

Went from 10" rotors to 12" rotors, also going from about 11lbs each to ~20 I never did weight them myself to verify, but it was about 20-25 lbs of rotating mass alone added. lightened up the knuckle and caliper, so I may have not increased total weight by much, but just moved it from non rotational un-sprung weight to rotational un-sprung weight.
And when it comes down to it, that's probably the worst thing that I could have done... LOL...

For every pound you add un-sprung equals about 10lbs of sprung weight. If you went to larger diameter rotors also, the you have increased the rotating mass. Whether or not that would cause you to loose 4 tenths is anybody's guess.

I'm starting to think with a combination of possibly lean fueling off the line, and also a lean run all together... closer to 13.0 than 12.7 that could possibly hold me back another 2 tenths or so, and then if I get all that squared away that would put me around 14.7 n/a and I know with my setup I ran 14.2-14.3 with the drag radials before... so 4 tenths is maybe an acceptable loss for big brakes? I'm not sure.
I also know a 3400 5-speed is capable of 14.3's yet the one at Beretta Fest Charlotte only ran 9.6's at BEST in the 1/8th and he has the same large brake upgrade as me, thats about a 14.9 or so in the 1/4.Last edited by 3400-95-Modified; 08-19-2009, 09:21 AM.

Plugs are all clean, Nothing out of the ordinary.
No skips, I could try another set of coils but I doubt thats causing it.
I've already done a compression check, 175 all the way across the board, 3 pumps each, cold motor.
Fuel looks good so I doubt an injector is stuck
And the Converter has less than 10k on it so I doubt thats it, Everything in my logs as far as converter slip during driving and such looks about right.
I have two things I'm going to check/do... When I get the money I'm going to buy a set of Baer Eradispeed rotors for a camaro, those are up to 8lbs lighter each... so that will help bring the weight gain down... And also I'm going to check my axle length to be sure its not binding up since I have hybridized axles... I doubt it is but its worth checking.Last edited by 3400-95-Modified; 08-19-2009, 08:02 AM.

that's not enough to change your times that much. maybe your coils are weak? look at a plug. make sure your TB is opening all the way. running too lean burn a valve/piston? one injector partially clogged? tranny/converter slipping? have you done a compression and cylinder leak down test yet? maybe the head gasket between two cylinders is starting to leak. wow! that's a tough list of things that are time consuming to rule out. i hope it's none of that! lol

Well... I fixed the nitrous issue... it works, BUT the car is not as bad assed as I would have hoped...
I'm really lost on where all my power is going... Hell I was quoted approximately 275hp for this cam and the damn car wont even go faster than a 14.9 now... I ran constant 14's last year and a 13.996 with street tires, and I know if I bolted the DR's up I lost some ET due to the 1" larger diameter tire... Now this year I can't even break a 14.8 n/a WTF is up with that?
I didn't get a good scan this last n/a run but I highly doubt that my fueling is causing this much of an ET drop... I did 14.4's last year running very lean and I know its not doing that now.
I want to hear some opinions here on rotating weight.... I did the Camaro front brake upgrade... now Stock beretta rotors are around 11lbs or so... Camaro ones are 20lbs... Plus the outer CV is slightly larger and the bearing is different as well. I know my car was good for 14.2's with the DR's last year... so could I have really hurt my ET by 7 tenths by doing the 12" brake upgrade?
I will say, running very lean with the 100 shot I got a 13.511@102.89 So that is an improvement over what I had before... And I think there is some area to improve on that as is since the A/F during that run was 13.0-12.8... slightly lean for that setup.

a car like that with a 100shot is pretty badass i would have to say.

I FIXED IT!!!!
Nitrous works. Here is what my problem was. I bought a new nozzle at the beginning of this year since I snapped mine off when doing a trans fix, so I figure hell I'll buy the new fogger 2 nozzle's.... come to find out they are shit... SO I bought a new standard style nozzle and all is good. 100 shot here I come!
The issue I was having.
Ben I should have a time for you at the middle of August, 75 and 100 shot... Dyno will have to wait till after Sept when I'm done moving, and have money.Last edited by 3400-95-Modified; 07-28-2009, 01:33 PM.

Marinating my timing chain today in Mobil 1, and hopefully installing it tonight with some generous helping of Assy lube to keep it lubricated on first start up.
I'll get a vid of how much tighter this chain is when it goes in. I have a feeling its going to be night and day difference.
Ben if your reading this, What do you think I was loosing with how much my chain was stretched... I'm assuming it was the equivalent of retarding the cam timing a good amount, but I'm not sure how much.
I also have my factory fuel pump back in my tank, since I think I hurt the walbro when I had issues with the main feed line... After I fixed that the pump seemed like it couldnt support the fuel flow needs of my engine and the nitrous... Which is odd since I have run a stock 3400 with the 100 shot before and never had any issues on a stock pump... And I can't imagine my hybrid will pull all that much more fuel to make the stock pump not keep up. At least for the mean time till I can replace that pump.
