Oh it's good. We are lucky that we still have it. The wire harness burnt on and under the diesel tank 15 years ago. Lucky my moms cousin was cruzing by and put it out. And yes the panels have been off since then haha.

I have some vids of me baggin it. It's got just over 16000 hrs. It's nothin like the crazy turbo volvo tractor but we still use it in the field.

Just a normal weekend. Decided to prove that the 856 would start when the 986 didn't. Warmed it up then started F-in around. 16000 hrs purrrr's...

Vid 2. The old girl fired up when my dad's new purchase didn't (the 986) so I bagged it a little. Don't worry it can take it. 16000 hrs purrrs like a ki...

All original except for the wire harness, seat (power seat out of a 96 chev truck haha) and a GT grant steering wheel.

I've been watching for a 06 through 86 with MFWD and they are hard to find, only one hydro 100. Only seen one in my area.

Well. Blew the motor in the '94 GTP 2 weeks ago. Rod bearing I think. 391699 kms RIP for now, I'll see how bad it is later. Haven't had time to work on the Lumina or '92 GTP so I had to inspect and drive the Beretta, usually we count on my wifes car as a spare (she could use the truck) but it NFGed the day before mine. '96 civic with coolant pouring out of a cracked block?

That little POS (Quad 4) needs some TLC. Stuck at work for another 2 weeks (total of 3) might pull the 284 out of the '92 when I get home and see how bad it is. For know I ordered 200 bucks of timing shit of rock auto to see if I can tune up the Beretta.

If the Quad jumped a tooth then the valves are bent. All you need for a Quad is a good timing chain, good plugs/ICM/coils and water pump. Well there is a bit more, but the water pump is a major thing. If it goes then it will dump coolant into the oil pan. Yeah that is a pretty dumb set up.
Sorry to hear about the 60*.

The valves should be good? It runs smooth, just no power. I have unburnt fuel. Will replace the coil holder, coils, boots and ign module for now. Shouldn't the water pump have a weep hole like the 2.4 Twin Cam, my sisters '97 cav is in the yard and the seal is shot.

I'll get more 60's. Looking at a decent '96 GTP but it's been in Canada for 4 years and was never imported. It would be a good deal but the importing looks painful.

I'm new to Quads, but I don't think the 2.3's had a weep hole. How old is the O2 on that thing?

Wow, never thought about a cross border sale.

Well that Quad 4 has pretty much drove me nuts, half my fault. I need it replaced before winter. It needs work and I don't want to do anymore to it. I've fed it enough money for know. I think the last messed something up during the head job.

I found this about a month ago, it already has rust so the winter shouldn't bother it. 1995 Monte Carlo. Brown leather with factory CD.

                  IMGP5891.JPG

It only has 167,000 kms but there are issues with the tranny. If it gets worse I'll drop in a different one. Picked it up about 1.5 months ago for $850.00 so the price was good. It was nice and clean under the hood and the motor is strong.

I should have did a video last weekend. I fired up the '94 with the blown up motor to move it from the farm yard to the field, WOW. That thing sounded angry, knockin and smoking but made it another .5 mile. Could smell burning oil and antifreeze, I hope the block is still good!! Might strip it down next year, no time right know.

Quick question for those reading. I've never heard of these before, just seen one in a local add. And they are a "GM" 60' v-6. There is an old heavy duty GMC with a v-6 engine. Naturally the numbers 478 ci peeked my intrest. Sure enough GMC has an entire line up of large 60 degree v-6 gas and diesel engines. The largest is the 478 magnum six. They also make a 60 degree v-8 at 637 and a v-12 which is one casting of two of the smaller 351 v-6's, one block 4 heads.

Wierd shit. Anyone else heard of these. FYI they are heavy.

Yah I assumed the same thing. I've checked some videos on youtube she's a monster. They're sayin 950 lbs dressed (almost 1200 for the 637 v-. All the large trucks older than '79 in my area are 3 ton's or smaller. Our 64 3 ton has a SBC 327. Have drove a few and lots around newer than '79 with the chevy big block v-8's. There is a nice '72 ish C25 GMC on youtube with the 478 swapped in place of the stock 300 something v-6. It is nice.

I kinda want to pick it up now just to try it out. We don't do enough grain to justify the 9000 grand that he wants though. Looks new though. Now that I know they are out there I can prob find a cheaper run down one. 478 6 magnum is rated at 220 to 240 hp at the crank with 400 to 420 lb-ft. Could sell our pair of '74/75 F-350 ford grain trucks and use that monster (the '75 is pretty fun with the FE 390 though for a ford).

Yeah 4.10 would be a stretch, it's got to be shorter. Actually that was the optional engine. Stock/base was the 292 straight 6 on the 3 ton after '62 Not sure were the v-6's fit it. When you can get it to run it does all right. The neighbour farmered the shit out of it but it has a new box hoist on it worth 4k so the 600 was a good price. We plan to make the back of the frame and box into a trailer for the tractor and re-use the 327 and 5spd elsewhere.

I don't know to much about 327's but they are also used as an industrial engine. I know some '60's massey combines had 327's.

We do have a 1963 one ton chev with the 235 I-6. That thing is indistructable. My grandpa bought it new to replace the studebaker (which is now or beer hauler in my profile pic). We have a second parts truck for this one, everything but the tranny, it has a 3 on the tree (what a stupid idea). The org 4spd was ground to destruction and I through the one out of my parts school bus (haha) in it.

I have some pics. Is there anything specific that you want. Can take more pics and upload in a week.

Here is the 1963 Chev one ton that my grandpa bought new. C30 w/ 235ci I-6 and 4spd.
                                Picture 126.jpgPicture 128.jpgPicture 129.jpg

I have 4 videos on youtube featuring this truck. Tire Chains Rule, Tire Chains Rule 2: The Wrath of Olde Blue (Part 1 and 2) and HellRaiser Tow Test.

And the 1964 GMC parts truck. C30 with 235ci and 3 on the tree.
                                Picture 141.jpg

Here is the HellRaiser Go-cart from my profile picture before I modified it. It was originally a 1952 studebaker 2wd truck that my Grandpa bought. My dad and grandpa modified it to help with some farm chores, mainly hauling rocks off the field and feeding chop to the cows. It used a 10 hp horizontal shaft grain auger motor to a 1953/54 dodge 4spd tranny using a belt and three pulleys. One one used as a clutch, it was held engaged by rotating the handle and over-centering the link/levers. Can see it in the pictures. We also used it for birthday partys when we were kids, put some square bales in the back and good to go. It was not very safe and kids could not safely drive it. The motor bolted to the piece of wood.

                                Before1-1.JPGBefore1-3.JPGBefore1-4.JPG

And this is pretty much what it looks like now.

                                WalkAround3-1.JPGWalkAround3-2.JPGWalkAround3-4.JPG

It now has the following mods:
Original steering axle fliped with a non power steering rack and pinnion from a ford escort pony. It also has the steering column, steering wheel and ignition.
Rear axle from a S-10 with leafs. Coils from a '80's cutlass. Shocks from a dodge.
S-10 rims with 35" tires on the back and 29" on the front. (a little grindind to get the S-10 rims to fit on the front spindles.
1984 Honda 200m ATC motor and wiring.
The same dodge tranny from the first build.
Hybrid Studebaker/S-10 driveshaft (cut and welded together haha)
Front seat from the pony. Mid is from my Blazer. Rear is from my 80 chev.
                                9500 lb Runva winch.
                                60 amp ACDelco GM altenator.
Custom chevy symbol gas pedal and welded chain link brake.
Both of my Hurst t-handle shifters from my '80 chev.
One fan from my '91 GTP with push/pull switch

                                Features:
The Honda engine was only rated at 13 hp from the factory. The ATC have the centrifugal clutch so unlike the first version when you let of the gas it will stop moving (kid safe). The 200 has a built in 5spd and drives the input shaft of the Dodge 4spd (with reverse) so it has 5 gears in all 4 forward speeds and in reverse. The trike shifter is setup between the seats with links and levers to act like a slap shift. The altenator is belt driven off of the input shaft also. I was worried that it would rob to much horsepower from the small motor so with the gearing it will only operate above 75% rpm in 2nd on the trike or above 50% in 3rd and always in 4th/5th. It can hit 47 kph on a flat surface. The winch works alright but the if you run the fan the altenator cannot keep up. The Blazer seat uses the factory flip up hinges and latch to allow the husky chainsaw to be stored underneath along with a bin for empties. You can hold two 20 quart coolers on the fenders plus one in the receiver rack with two jerry cans. The tire chains were installed after we saw how useless the A/T were, needed 1.25" wheel spacers to clear the frame.

I plan on one more set of mods and then It will be complete. Since these pics I added safety had rails aroud the Blazer seat (after my brother fell off, my bad) and six seat belts in the back. There are multiple videos on my youtube channel with this beast. HellRaiser Tow Test is the best. Our '75 Ford grain truck is in HellRaiser Hauler.

Let me know if you want to see anything else. I'll get some pics of the 327 grain truck in a week. Chad.
