No. Your interpritation is correct, but trolling also refers to just reading and never posting.
Ben has FORGOTTEN more than I will ever know. I just feel that my knowledge is getting to be outdated. The things that I know to be true are not so true anymore. I really feel I need to expand what I know more and more, but I am limited in a way. I learn my best by doing. Reading does not tell me anything. I have to see what I am doing. The only thing I can read that does not apply is wiring diagrams, I LOVE those.
One thing I try to do is look things up in my books before I post. I don't want to ever give any wrong information, but as things change, and new things come out, what I know and what I knew tend to be somewhat altered.
I guess LURKING is more what I mean. I normally don't try to start shit. But I can if I ever feel frisky enough. I have not started any shit since I got banned over on w-body.com (which that was just me getting some stuff off my chest more than anything).

Lurking is probably the term:P Trolling is when you start shit in numerous threads. Like if I went around replying after someone all the time to correct them. We don't get that too often. The most recent time, the guy brought up puppy beating, which is hilarious. I guess it is entertaining. There are some aspects that aren't so humorous though

I always thought trolling was when you posted a thread on a board that wasn't on the same subject. Then sat back and wached the replies. Is my interpritation wrong?

In all honesty I troll alot more than i post. I am learning, and with the help of Ben, DOHCfiend, and others whose names elude me at the moment, I have become not so timid about tackling these motors pushrod or DOHC. The information learned is worth its weight in gold. I enjoy reading the problems and watching as the solution unfolds. I have a note pad that I write my ideas on the problem down and when the solution presents itself I compare notes. I have gone from a crappy 10% rate to about 80% now. I am still learning and will till the day i die, so I never will get that magic 100% but it sure is fun trying. Long live the board.

This place is fun. I had my hiatus, and don't have a high post count, and don't own a 60* engine anymore. But, it's still a fun place to be.

That was with the old forum. I forget how many posts I had on gmforums but it was over 3000. We had 36k in 03 when they shut down and we lost it all. Started over at that point.
I also agree that post count means nothing in terms of content. I should probably just make wiki articles instead of posting on the forum. That would pwn. If everyone did, that would be the greatest accomplishment this site has ever had. Im shutting off the forum till you guys fill up the wiki:P

Yeah, its been longer than 2000. We were on the yahoo club in 99. I was on the W body boards and read the gm pushrod performance page...waiting for an eternity for chris to update it. I was on mailing lists in 96-99 as well.
We really had shit going in 01-02...but thats mostly lost.
Check this out from 02.
1-24-01 (<---wrong! hahaha)
Just some basic additions to the performance parts areas. Also, if you have a site that is based on the 60V6, and would like to help us out, please email me. I would like to see more iron head/carb info up here, and on the forums.

I'll have to say, thout, that you are excellent at helping with the gen repair threads. You always seem to be there when people have questions like "car won't start", "hesitation", "misfire" etc. Your post count doesn't have to be high to be helpfulOriginally posted by 3100 MPFI View PostI am not working, but I am still wasting my life on this site. Or he is part-owner of it, lol.Originally posted by Coyote_Rage View Postwell it may be Ben is just the board whore.. or he may know what he is talking about.

My wife gets on me as well. Understandable I guess when there is about 5 sites I'm on with over 1k posts in the last yearOriginally posted by bszopi View PostHahah... yeah, I know that feeling. Although I'm usually fixing or trying to improve it. Back when I was in college (almost 3 yrs now), I spent ALOT of time at work on the site. Nowadays, I work at a company that tracks internet usage down to the minute and makes reports to managers on a monthly basis. So its hard to spend too much time on it. There have been some days that I end up taking a long lunch to either catch up on reading some stuff, or in the fixing/modding mode.
I spend alot of time at home on here as well, although I'm trying to cut back on that as well, as my wife likes to harp on my about how I spend more time on here than I do with her or the kids.
EDIT: When I signed up here Ben had 5,xxx posts. He has posted more then 3k since I started checking out the site Sept 06.Last edited by ForcedFirebird; 12-11-2007, 09:51 PM.
