Well, the kid wasn't answering the phone for a while, so I called his parents. He showed up last Fri with some more cash, still owes me $100. His mom actually she had thought about giving me his entire paycheck and letting him wait for me to give back the change as a lesson, but I just wanted the money. Sad part is, it's not the money that pissed me off, but rather that I kept him out of jail and he didn't even have the nerve to call me back to tell me he was broke/sick/lazy - or any other excuse - he just plain ignored me.

On a good note, the body/paint shop has the car and will probably be in the booth by mid week. It's getting the rear spoiler, sunroof air deflector and possibly the 325 es badges shaved off (if he has time for the badges), the bumper fillers are getting body color along with the mirror housings.

Can't wait to see the final product!

Next the car needs new shocks/springs so it's getting a 2" drop since the price on the drop vs. stock parts is minimal, put some cheap tires on the front for now, but got new treads coming soon

I'm happy, he's making progress. Tony (360 Automotive) does a lot of dealer quick jobs, and I will have to admit, they look great for a $700 paint job. I've also seen the custom candy, body shaves, plastic paint etc, and he can do a quality job as well I told him I don't care if it takes several visits, I want a nice jobber...










He suggested painting the bumper covers the same as the body, what do you think?

Oh yeah, did I mention he's pulling all the small dings etc, and spraying the whole car (even clear coats)?

Local auto body guy came in the shop to drop my biz partner's car off after a bumper repair and saw I was in the middle of rebuilding some heads. Well, he just so happens to need .020" off a set of heads for his 396 for his '68 Impala and we struck a deal. He would fix the dent, install the fender and air dam in trade.

The car had some more damage (thank you wifey lol) so here 'ya go...

That video is like 10 minutes from me! I just hope the kid doesn't do it again....sometimes it takes a while for people to actually change their behavior. ie-jail time.

Never leave your toys out on the street. From a legal standpoint it is highly unlikely he could be prosecuted for much more than leaving the scene of an accident that long afterwards since the proof of drunkeness would be gone.

You're to cool for me with that kind of willful recklessness. It might have been better to have at least turned him in to his parents if he still lives with them. Better to have them punish him than the law. He could have killed someone, can't understand why that doesn't deter people from taking the chance given how often that happens, oh wait, for some reason the law doesn't seem to think killing someone while driving drunk is a serious enough crime to have to pay for with spending much, or all of the rest of your life in prison in return.

You are probably familiar with how well the Bargain Trader owners wife is doing with her court case after her hit and run drunk driving incident killed a man.

This guy was so drunk he really didn't know he hit someone despite the severity of the impact, as could be seen in another clip when cops questioned him after running him down. He could hardly talk he was so drunk.

The black line on the fender is the same exact height as my mirror, and that's grey paint on the bumper, same height as the damage.

He's my old neighbor's kid, and was visiting the punk across the street. I said I turned in a video to the cops and a van just like that hit my car. He admitted he was wasted last night (19yrs old mind you) and doesn't remember. So I told him he's luck the tag number didn't show up in the video or he might have already been arrested.

I then told him he has to repair it or I was going to the police and his partents. Then gave him a ration of shit for driving drunk. He was extremely aplogetic, specially since the teenagers around here are scared of me lol.
