Anyone try cleaning the O2 sensor with any success? I'm talking about heating and quenching the tip, to dislodge carbon. I'm working on a 99 Blazer, the thing has 4 of these. Not ready to put $200 plus into O2 sensors. Several websites say it works....sometimes. ECM readout says this is the problem, but can't identify which one.

i've actually heard there is some merit to this(and for contaminated cats as well), depending on what is causing the contamination. if you can get the EGTs to the point of melting the contaminant, it melts and blows out.Originally posted by 86FieroSEv6 View PostWhat exactly does your "ECM readout" say? Usually, if a sensor is going to recover, a good 4-6 hour highway drive will do it . . . . . providing the engine is running well and not sickly.
