  • FS: 96 3.4 DOHC Throttle Body & 3.1 TB

    3.4 DOHC Throttlebody
    From 96 motor, includes TPS and IAC
    Clean and in good shape, no defects.

    $35 shipped.

    From memory I believe it is 64mm but I'd need to measure to be sure.

    Includes the throttle cable bracket but this piece was modded as this was used on a different motor. You can use it, or discard and use your original bracket.
    The backside of the TB plate is as clean as the front - it was ran on a motor that did not have an egr valve.

    The cover plate with the IAC air passages needs a gasket. Hence it is not bolted on. No IAC/TPS. I think this came off a J body but I don't remember for certain.

    will the dohc fit on my 94 dohc?

      Not unless you have swapped to 96 manifolds. The 91-95 motors the tb is one piece with the plenum and not detachable.

        Older DOHC the TB was cast into the manifold...

        What diameter is that? I'm curious. did you ever measure it?

        Looks very very similar to a LX5 TB...

            Measured the DOHC TB, it is 64mm.

                  It looks like it could be close to the LX5 TB bolt pattern if not the same. If so then that would a be another source for TB other than the LX5. You'd still need the LX5 to LX9 TB adapter from WOTTech of course.

                  Only difference if the bolt pattern is the same would be 1mm less and larger vacuum nipples on the side there.

                    Yea I haven't done the swap Ill have to check junk yards to do that.. I take it 96 manifolds have a bigger intake manifold..

                      Yes, the 96+ manifolds have larger runners, more plenum volume and less turns/bottlenecks.
                      It may take a away a bit from low end torque but it opens up the top end. The TB bore is the same size for all years of the dohc as far as I know, but the 96+ motors the TB is a bolt on unit rather than cast into the plenum.
