I didn't say the ported 3500 UIM was worthless. I said it didn't make any difference on my car.

And from what I have seen and experienced I have pretty close to the best tune out there on a stock N/A engine. On an auto no less and the 5-speeds can't best it. (But they're getting close.)

I have also conceded that my LIM is NOT ported and that may be a consideration as to the optimum combination.

But it appears I have dragged this off topic and I'm sorry. Just wondering out loud.

    G/L with the sale.

I wish all it took was a flowbench to know everything. Its merely a tool for better guessing. A ported 3500 upper will outflow a stock 3500 upper by a large margin but you say it is worthless. Therefore, the bench flow is not the only factor to deal with.

So far the only real world feedback we have is the powerband is broader with the 3500 upper. There is debate on nitrous distribution based on the varying flow per cylinder due to the TB extension. Again, flowbench tested, but we have nothing real world. EGT on each exhaust port would be a good test.

    That doesn't answer my question.

Is in fact the 3400 UIM a better choice over the 3500?

I have a 3500 UIM that was ported (waste of money as far as any diffrence it made on a pretty damn well tuned car) but if there is an advantage using the 3400 UIM I want one!

AGAIN...Sorry for the hi-jack, but this is stuff we need to know from the guys with the flow benches.

    A BIT OFF TOPIC!!

Are we still insisting the 3400 UIM is better than the 3500?

Sorry for the interupt, but I'm getting confused, and for an old man it's easy to do.

BTW that Kool Aid sig is REALLY ANNOYING!
