Well this really sucks. I have a full turbo build just waiting on the intercooler plumbing and its done. I have mine installed but haven't had a chance to run the motor. I called Mike at Milzy Motorsports right away to let him know about this. I guess mine too is apart of this last batch. He is calling Marc right away tomorrow to find out whats going on and then letting me know. I am going to be real pissed to have to take this all back out again but at least it will be caught before something bad could have happened. The worry I have is that if this is found to be a issue that we might not ever get a chance to see these again. I don't think Marc wanted to do this last batch to begin with.

As I posted in the chat box just playing with the cam gear and the new chain I have, I feel the sprocket is cut wrong, or too deep... The rollers will not bottom out on the sprocket when you wrap the chain around it as much as it would be when installed... where its wrapping passed 180* on each side the roller is pressing hard to one side of the gear cut and not touching the radius at the bottom, so I feel like driving it like this slowly stretched the links out till the rollers bottomed out like they should be doing and it stopped there.

I strongly suggest anyone who bought one of these to NOT use it right now and remove it from their motor because I believe there will be a recall on them... At least I hope Marc can get an answer from the gear cutter when he verifies my theory and they will own up to the mistake made and take responsibility and replace these.

I'm looking at $542.5 of paper weights right now, which is a bit much to swallow and I'm sure everyone else feels the same way.
    Im in concurrence

Going by the photo that was posted earlier in this thread, there were 54 blanks sent to the gear cutters.... Man I hope they weren't cut wrong otherwise that's a lot of material to replace and time to re-cut.

Just got off the phone with Marc and he has no idea what could have happened. They are Cloyes standard Double roller chains so nothing special, but at the same time Cloyes has not done me well in the past when it comes to replacement parts.

He asked for me to ship him the parts off the motor so he could measure it to see if he can figure out what went wrong... The only thing he could think of is the teeth being cut wrong somehow which over time caused the chain to stretch to try and fit the profile.

I was wondering the same thing... This went together just fine, nice and tight, rotated free, sounded GREAT first startup, nice and quite unlike my stretched GM chain slapping the dampener... But then it turned into this. The engine sounded like a solid lifter engine with WAY too much rocker clearance. Or as my wife so eloquently put it... "It sounds like there are a bunch of marbles rolling around in there"

And everyone told me roller chains wont stretch... and neither do the stockers the looseness comes from wear on the gears and joints... This chain is obviously stretched out.

I'm taking a shot in the dark here and guessing this is the chain he purchased

Free Shipping - Cloyes Replacement Timing Chains with qualifying orders of $109. Shop Timing Chains at Summit Racing.

I'm only guessing that because its individual and doesn't come with gears that are useless.

Wow thats not good. Definitely can see that it stretched. Wonder if anybody else has installed theirs and had any issues. Mine is still in the box.
