"So far I have found two upper sprockets that are out of tolerance but .002" and the gear cutter said that really should not have an effect given the chain length and diameter of the sprocket. The funny thing is, the two Jon (3400modified) sent back were well within tolerance. The problem appears, at this point, to be the lack of oil grooves in the back of the sprocket causing the chain to run dry and wear prematurely. You can see heat marks (blue) on the back side of the one Jon had in his engine. This shows there was a lack of oil getting to the back side of the sprocket which also slings out on the chain."
Sorry if that's what his gear cutter is going to say when the chain is walking out of the sprocket that's just not the whole story... One chain didn't fit and walked out 1 tooth, the other fit and only because it was badly stretched.

SOMETHING is wrong, Maybe it's the chain at fault... I don't know, but it's not right. This was not caused by lack of lubrication I can guarantee that.

If you take a bike sprocket and a chain and you wrap that chain fully around the sprocket, it fits... PERFECTLY... This chain did not fit into these sprockets it would center on one roller and then every other tooth after that it would begin to walk out of the teeth. If he is measuring to the profile of a Cloyes DRTC set for the 3.4 camaro and it's coming up right then he needs to measure the chain too and make sure those are the same profile.

It'd be nice to hear an update from whoever that he has received them and the issue is being resolved. If something is going on with him, then I wish him the best.

I ordered an external crank trigger off of BritishCarConversions on August 21st and sent him an email when it would be shipped. I have yet to have a reply. I guess we all have no choice but to be patient. He's dealing with a lot of things right now.

I tried to contact him to see if it was too late to send mine as I just pulled it out last weekend and got no answer either.

I don't think anyone has received any update from him. Things may be busy for him with his recent health issues... Hopefully we get some info sometime soon.

If it has TCE engraved on it then it should be fine, if it's a blank face cam gear then it probably came from this batch, as far as we know only this batch is affected.
