does the obd2 LQ1 use the same 40x sensor under the balancer and cam sensor/reluctor as the 31/3400's?

so in theory, a LQ1 could be run off of a LA1 PCM?"I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I have broken with society for reasons which I alone am able to appreciate. I am therefore not subject to it's stupid laws, and I ask you to never allude to them in my presence again."

Thanks, does the cam sensor get it's pickup off of the cam, or the cam cog?"I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. hmm...... i would expect 0 issues swapping between a LQ1 and gen3(or even the RWD3.4) in terms of cam/crank signals with one possible thing to investigate: cylinder sequencing. all of the OHV engines likely generate a cam pulse for the same cylinder, but i don't know if the LQ1 has the pole in the right spot for that to happen at the same time too, especially if cam timing were being played with.1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

both engines have the same firing order, and I assume, that the cam reluctor is TDC cylinder 1.Originally posted by robertisaar View Posthmm...... i would expect 0 issues swapping between a LQ1 and gen3(or even the RWD3.4) in terms of cam/crank signals with one possible thing to investigate: cylinder sequencing. all of the OHV engines likely generate a cam pulse for the same cylinder, but i don't know if the LQ1 has the pole in the right spot for that to happen at the same time too, especially if cam timing were being played with."I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. actually..... i want to say it is cylinder 3 or 5, but it's been a long time since i investigated it. i suppose i could look at the 1FA stuff to be certain, that had the early 94-95 LQ1 calibrations(before they moved to 2E) and all of the 94-95 A-body 3100 MAF calibrations.1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!
