I say get the car running good before the turbo, that way you know if the problem is turbo related or not. Its just easier to track down problems when you only make one change at a time.
I swapped motors at the time I was doing a turbo and made sure there were no problemw ith the new motor before installing the turbo. Just to make sure the computer and sesnors were all working correctly.
Yeah, that was the idea, but now it's getting to the point that I don't want to build two set of headers, and tune for both. This is not my driver (obviously how long it's been sitting lol), so tracking down a bad sensor etc isn't going to leave me stranded on my way to work or anything.
Besides, as long as I'm not getting into boost pre-maturely I should be able to check everything out N/A by cruising.

Nice. How far are you away from dropping the engine in and then fabricating the turbo? Still figuring out the accessories?
LOL, look back a little bit in the thread. All I need to do is make the coolant neck adapter and mount the A/C and P/S onto the brackets, and make the headers.
I might just skip the N/A testing and go right to boost.
The ITB makes up for it. The manifold is a killer of power on gen2, so you got that all taken care of. Did you ever get pics of this in another thread?
Finally got some time to work on my own stuff . Told the family i wanted to pull my engine on Father's Day. Started at 11am and had to assemble the hoist and stand (don't fit in my truck assembled), started cooking on the grill by 2pm when our company showed up lol.
Working alone with my boys watching, it's done though...

Is it just an optical illusion, or does your alternator not line up with all the other pulleys? Looks like it's sitting too far back.
Since the 3x00 heads mount in the same location, and the stock brackets are used, they should line up perfect. I didn't double chack, but sighted down them and they looked good. I have a brand new belt that came off the car, just need to disconnect the A/C and P/S to bring to the shop to clean up and install.
They had oil cap on the intake. So you'd have to use a funnel through the PCV hole. No biggy in my eyes, I use a funnel now anyway with my good paint job on the motor to prevent spills! LOL Drivers side is normal position for FWD too. I would use gen2 covers but I'm not sure if it'd clear my coolant pipe. Your are all custom so you could probably use them. Since the RWD water pump isn't where mine is.
