possible issues with 4t40e on a 91 Lumina 3.1

Im about to install this 4T40-E I pulled from a early 99 Malibu onto a 91 Lumina. It was a freebie and its a good running transmission and I noticed no tv/detent cable. How do I account for this missing part? Will this affect the overall functionality or do I have to do a firmware mod?

Your stock computer has no idea how to run a 4T40-E. Axles might be an issues as well. No one talks about this because its not something you should do. That setup was never put into a gen 1 w body.
