i need help setting valve lash - 3.1 MPFI

Yup, thats correct. Did you measure pre lash on the exhaust pushrods like you did the intake? If its the same, then that is fine.

what's pre-lash? do you mean tightening the rocker arm nut until tension was felt on the pushrod? (before using the tq wrench). if so then yes...that's how i tightened all 12 of them (making sure the lifters were furthest down in their bores before doing so of course).

cool thanks for the help everyone. i get paid Friday, and i should have this sucker back in the Cutty with my "new" '89 Getrag 282 sometime next week. in the meantime i need to get busy scrubbing down the timing cover, oil pan, valve covers, plenum blah blah....
