Will use an intercooler for sure, I don't want to be without a car for a while, thats why I'm trying to play it as safe as possible.

Wrong. That depends largely on how old the springs are and how much boost you are running. I ran 9psi for years with a stock cam and stock valve springs and I didn't see power fall off on the dyno until 5800 rpm... the same place power drops on NA grand ams.Originally posted by Shaun41178 View Posteven if not running a larger cam, if you re going to boost, you need better springs. Well, an intercooler is definitely a good idea, but it had nothing to do with why he blew two motors. It was because he had the rsm setup that deleted the MAF sensor and he didn't put it back in like we told him to. That's why he was getting detonation, because he wasn't getting enough fuel, not because of the intake charge temps. ls6 are the best for the price i think, but you could use the 3500 springs without any need to change anything, just take the old 3400 springs off and use the new 3500, i think it would be the least cost and least amount of time consumed.

I'm getting all those things for $350, I don't know if its good or not but IMO its worth it, I'll try the downpipe, but the tgp was a W-Body and so is the Impala, I'm keeping some faith with the downpipe, hopefully it works.
I was more concerned with the turbo being in the way of the throttle body, but I guess not.

Sorry aaron your wrong. If you are making more power and still using the stock springs you can create float.
People here have done it for crying out loud. by going to differnt springs and nothing else that corrected teh problem.
So don't sit there and tell me I am wrong. People here have dynoed it and even said they could feel it when driving.
One needs larger springs if boosting. Maybe you don't but you dont' have a good setup to begin with so its no wonder.

Um, the injectors are between the fuel rail and the lower intake manifold, underneath the upper intake manifold. I would've thought you'd know that already.
This is a pic of my fuel rail with 42lb injectors and my moddified harness with bosch connectors on it. The part with the red wire loom on the left goes to the main connector, the one coming down from the middle is the MAP sensor lead, and the two on the right side are the cam sensor and coolant temp sensor leads.'97 Grand Prix GT 3800 (sold)

Dude I have talked to people that have boosted their 3400 aawrongs, and they needed stiffer springs. But then again they weren't running crappy magnuson kits on 9 psi only making a measly 230 whp. They were making over 300. So thats probably why you have gotten away with stock springs. You just aren't making any power. Your setup is horrible.
To answer the question. Get the ls6 springs. You will need them. So get them and be done with it.
