Yes...the biggest issue is enough fuel when it needs it...there are some out there that are using 30 pounders from a trailblazer and a AFR and a smaller pulley getting a lot out of the kit with the correct supporting mods. I have seen no dyno #s though to back the number claims............I am hoping this dyno tune will give everyone some real numbers to chew on...........i wish JohnV6 the best and anyone trying to get this kit to work....it has the potential to be great or blow up....most blow up........that would be me..............but I need to get up and keep tryin

    It blew up?

I cannot believe these systems are not exploding rolling out of the shop with no MAF/Tune, and no FMU.

Yeah the real way to run this kit would be with a FMIC and MAF. There's simply no excuse not to use a FMIC since it's not a roots blower and you can actually plumb the output before it goes to the motor.

Aside from running lean/blowing up, these kits must be super weak on power. Expect tons more power once you get the correct fuel for it.

Yes still here...and still have the Monte....couldnt bear to sell it....so it looks like if I donr sell the kit....may try and put the monte back to pre blow up status...this time with a real tune..........been playing around with the 3500topend idea before I put the charger back on......i have the Monte back to stock and off the road so i can play now...............this time taking my time ......thinking it through.........He def needs an FMU at the least......i know all to well what happens when you lean out under boost.............................

    BOOM

    Not good....really F s up your day

on second thought from my previous post.....the pre charger MAF looks good in the PFYC picture but it in that position..... precharger......... wouldnt work.....the MAF tables would be calculating fuel based on eronious info....ie ....no boost......i like the FMIC idea......makes much more sense.............in at the least a post charger big MAF

Yeah I'm a DHP guy so I could tune for this SC... and I would definately do that.

Still no MAF? No Tune?!! Dubbaya, Tee, Efff Mate! I would not risk the motor without a MAF and a tune!! Getting a tune without a MAF is going to be hard, and I don't know if they will do it like that...

I don't even see a RRFPR / FMU!!!! How the heck does it get enough fuel when it goes into boost like it is???

Does that BOV clear the hood?

Good job on grinding the casting seam off the outside of the plenum. I see too many people with nice painted plenums, but they forget to take the ugly seam off first. What is it painted/coated with?

LOL @ the ground wire on the coolant bleed screw. Put that somewhere else where it will get better ground and look better. Oh and your powersteering fluid cap isn't centered. heheh.

Zofo61 Good to see you still here. Didn't know you still had the setup. I take it you sold the monte? 3400-modified could make a lot of power from that setup since he has DHP and can tune. I think you got the upgraded bearings and stuff right?

EDIT: more posts since I typed this.

I would clock the S/C so that it faces towards the front of the car, and plumb it to a FMIC. Then plumb it back to the TB and put the BOV and then MAF in there somewhere. That would be sweet, intercooled tuned boost!

Have no Idea......PFYC also says its an RSM kit and they are no longer branded........Z-Spec is marketing the kit and none come with a MAF....not unless they finally hired a tuner and actually are tuning the PCM instead of blocking out the MAF and all the MAF tables in a stock PCM and calling it tuned.

I like the idea though......good catch on the photo.

I would love to buy your SC setup, But I'm sure its way out of my budget....

    PM me your price

Also why does the PFYC setup show a pre charger maf on it? LS1 maf?

You will need at least an LS1 MAF or similar...the stock MAF tables will not be able to compensate for the flow. I did some searches on ebay and found a few that are pretty cheap ...especially for R&D for the right table..........I have a brand new LS1 MAF but I am keeping it with the kit that is for sale. Just be advised that the LS1 MAF has a larger diameter in and out than the stock 3400 MAF so plumming will be an issue....also the line up with the throttlebody and the room that exits with the Blow off valve there is no room for the MAF as RSM(Z-Spec) or whatever their name is this week. The CSC can be clocked in a different position i.e. the band aound the housing can be loosened and the discharge side of the CSC can be repositioned. The way you have it will need to be turned back towards the front of the car so that the dischrge side is pointing up and the 45 off that. That would give you the room to plumb in the MAF................my theory anyway...............

Your expecting 300 HP from a mail order tune NO maf SC setup???

I think your going to be greatfully dissapointed...

I could be wrong but that vid you posted didn't look and sound all that impressive going 60-85....

This is a crappy vid of my nitrous on my hybrid motor and that sounds like it accelerated faster than yours... Unfortunatly cant see the speedo easily in this vid...

Not sure.. I'd de-screen it if you wanted a little more flow.. but they say that if you take out the screen you need like 12" of straight pipe infront of it so that it works right.
