I think you need to unbolt that really quick and send it to me... It looks too crammed in your engine bay, it will fit mine perfectly..

better yet grand Am GT boost video

hey got a rough vid of my car going 60-85
And a clip of the boost
I tuned it down to 11 or 12 psi, it goes higher, but I lowered my RPM's to be safer on the tranny. On track day i will let loose with 15psi.

Damn, I was at the shop, then I remember dang my camera.
Good news I fixed it. YEAHHHH I DID IT!!!
All 3 set pins shreaded that hold the shaft to the charger unit.
Allignment Key for the shaft input was shread down too
I replaced both the set key and the 3 set pins and reinforced it with 3 more grade 8 allen head bolts.....Since after all theres 6 holes for the driveshaft to input shaft for the charger.
Maybe I never had those allen heads on at all, cause the holes were all ready threaded and all.
Sounds great nice whistle absalutely no grinding.
Just cant get rid of a little belt sqeek while shifting gears.
Awwww I feel so relieved. And it only cost 3 bucks to fix. Oh and I examined my rubber shielded bearing, Well its not rubber. Its da good one, guess the previous owner of the kit replaced it.

set screw going from the drive input to the shaft coming from the belt... very good possibility...

I would check that drive setup first, see if turning the pulley will make anything move inside... may be something simple like that.

I don't remember the details but I remember someone having the same issues, and it turned out to be a small screw or bolt on the shaft that broke. I wish I knew more about it, however it was a long time ago.

They sell vortech charger rebuild kits online depending on if its centrifugal or gear reduction.

It appears to be a very simple thing to take apart from the pics I have found, but the fact that they have not seen the major issue when you sent it in makes me wonder how they tested it to be sure what they even did worked...

I wish I had one of these, BUT I would rather take that 4k and spend it on the Camaro I saw on the way to work today... even if it was a 3800 it is still a newer car that I could drive to give my retta a break... and my wallet

yeah vortech....I just got the charger unit back. I had them upgrade the bearings in it since Im using 15 psi of boost.
then I put it on and the same noise, guess its the not the charger unit, or never was. My bet is the housing behind the charger too. Im going to take alook at it and disasemble it right now. I bet I could get someone around Fresno to work on it if it needs new bearings and what not.

thats bull, didn't you JUST get it back?

Unless you have an oiling issue I don't see why this keeps failing... It is a vortech charger right??? those aren't cheap so its not like its a knock off charger that keeps breaking.
