I'm curious to see what this thing does with 11.5:1 compression... Thats way up there.

After it's running I'll post some exhaust clips. The cam is not that big but I hope that it still has a little lope to it. I am going to run duals and I've got a pair of Dynomax Super Turbo muffs for it already, but haven't decided on the tips yet. The dyno will happen asap, but it needs a few miles on it first.

IT IS FINALLY IN THE CAR! The engine is in and now to hook everything up. I'm useing two 3500 front exh. manifolds but I'm going to have to change the cooling fan because the front mani. hits it. Hell, I was worried that the rear mani. wasn't going to fit and it has plenty of room.lol The headers that Fastlane02 on b-stuff is making aren't completed yet ,so I don't have headers. Anyway I've got some pics in the camera and when I get a chance I'll post them. When it's running I'll post some datalogs and get some opinions on the tune. Thanks again for your help Dave.

Well, I finally started assembling the engine today and it will be finished tomorrow. I have some pics and I will get more when it's together. I"ll probably post the pics and the final specs Sat. night or Sunday for everyone to see. I've been collecting parts and the car over the eleven months and it's finally coming together. I want to thank Superdave, John (ForcedFirebird), and Ben for all of the help that they have given me. When I get it running I'll probably be needing a little help with the tune, but it should be close thanks to Dave. I'm still on vacation next week so it will be in the car and running, hopefully driveable!

agreed. bigger is not always better. too big on the manifolds and you'll lose the scavenging effect from low velocity.

I do think though that you should go with dual 2" or dual 2.25" from the manifolds, into a Y into 2.5" single back. I'm willing to bet you'll loose some power with 3".

it has duals. i agree with the single pipe.

If your making over 350 crank HP then 3" would be ok. all in all, i don't think it's really critical to have the "optimal" biggest size.
Is that a single pipe all the way back, or dauls? I don't see how it's possible to run 470 hp through ONE 2.5" pipe.

3" worked well on mine last year, i'll be using the same midpipe this year but with 2 mufflers at the back to get the full flow of the 3" pipe.

i'm also installing a manual cutout for the track

Looks like it's all coming together well

Here is a pic of .549 lift with an empty modified lifter and the comp 26915 springs and stock 3500 seats.

Was actually like 1 7/8" from the factory, it's 2.25 now.
