    Too big of exhaust and you loose velocity and actually hurt flow and get turbulence. Besides isn't the output of those 3500 manifolds 2" only?

    Maybe, but calculations show that I'll need around 2.8" pipe and I'll probably just go press bent because a friend can do it cheap. That way I should still have plenty flow and I'm not going to give up HP in the exhaust system.

    Headers are not an option right now as I don't have the money or a way to make them at this time. For now I'm going to run 2 - 3500 front exh. manis. Anyway here are the final specs on my build:

    3400 stock bore
    3.4 iron head Sealed Power pistons for 11.5:1 cr/ARP rod bolts
    1161 grind cam (210/215 dur.-531/531 lift) with new push rods / WOT-TECH
    Comp valve springs / WOT-TECH
    3500 heads,lim,uim ported and polished
    65mm tb and adapter / WOT-TECH
    2-3500 front exh. man./2.25 downpipes/flanges by ForcedFirebird
    Flowmaster Y-collector
    3" exh./Dynomax f-body muffler 3" in/dual 2.5" out
    Innovate Wideband O2
    Moates Ostrich/memcal adapter/chip/ALDL cable
    TunerPro RT
    '93 Beretta/3t40 auto with around 2800 rpm stall speed

    and I can't remember what else, but I know that I have spent a shit load of money and I'm probably not done yet.
    I also have to mention Superdave for all of his help and Ben at WOT-TECH for supplying us with quality parts and tech assistance for our engines.

    i'm using betterthanyou's flanges on my 3500.. just gotta use the 3400 gaskets. they work perfect.

    I'm running 3400 S&S Headers on my 3500 top end so to answer your question yes they will work... I had to bend and wiggle my oil dipstick to fit back in there since the flange runs right where that wants to be.

    I have no way to check if the ports line up EXACTLY, but I dont think the port shape is different enough to make them miss-align... IIRC, I put stock 3400 exhaust gaskets over the ports and they were still larger than the head ports so if the flanges are matched to the stock gaskets then they will be plenty big enough.

    Also here is 568 lift on a collapsed lifter and LS6 springs... motor wouldnt turn over at first till the lifter dropped then it allowed the cam to go the whole circle. Needless to say I went to the comps... I had to.

    I think someone had looked once, but I think I remember that the 3100/3400 header flange I designed would work with the 3500 heads as well. If not, I know the bolt spacing is still the same, so it would just be a matter of tweaking the ports of the current CAD file I have to make it work with the 3500 ports. Let me know if that would help out at all.

    Well, I just received my Innovate wideband O2 sensor/guage, Ostrich 2, ALDL cable, and a couple of chips from Moates. Forced is going to make some 3500 exhaust flanges when I send him the specs, and then all that is needed are rings, bearings, timing set, and lower end gaskets to put my hybrid together. Oh yea and some consistently warm weather! Thanks SuperDave for your help, your a good man. I hope to have this thing up and running sometime in April, tweak the tune and make up to the V6Z24 meet in July. Then I can get a few dyno pulls and post some numbers. Plus I might get to make a couple of passes down the 1/4 mile with the infamous 3500Z of Dave's in the opposite lane. LOL

    You should take a extra lifter weld it so that it can't calaps then check for coil bind a hydralic lifter will calaps a good amount.

    I agree that it looks like room for more lift. My cam has .531 lift and I thought that my LS6 springs would work, but with the trouble that Superdave had without using actual spring seats I decided not to take a chance. Since I already have the seals/seats from the 3500 head gasket set I figured what the hell I might as well buy the better springs from Ben. With the Comp Cams
    #26986 springs and the stock seal/seats I should have no problem with coil bind.

    the LS6 yellows are taking .559 lift on moonwell's 3400, no idea how but they aren't binding and he's making craploads of power..
    Did Moon measure for new pushrods? I am told that the Cammotion cams have a smaller b.c. than stock, perhaps he's not getting full lift ...?

    Here is a 3400 with .506 lift and LS-6 Yellow springs...

    You can see by the pic, there's not much room left.. And the hyd. lifters are empty.

    I've been busy and the progress on the build has been slow. The UIM and the LIM are done and I'm finishing up the heads now. Just recieved my Comp Cams 26986 springs from the 60*V6 Store today, thanks Ben. I gave into the horsepower gods and I'll have some 3.4 iron head pistons here in the next few days. That should be good for a power increase and make tuning fun. When the engine is done I'll start on the trans. with a Alto Red Eagle rebuild kit and a TransGo shift kit.
