Would this rod work? With this would the stroke be the same?

They can. If the primaries are large enough, the bolt holes can be slotted to match the 3x00 pattern.Originally posted by SappySE107 View PostI don't think headers for an iron head will fit aluminum head.

Wouldn't it be .25"? If you move the rod dowel center .125" you would gain that at the top and bottom of the stroke. Problem is, with the shorter 5.7" rods the pistons would be .055" down in the bore. Suppose you could deck the block or use custom rods/pistons.Originally posted by SappySE107 View Post.125 stroke is what you can gain unless you take off more and use a smaller diameter rod big end. The 305 pistons may fit bore wise but the deck height isn't going to work last I checked.
Ben, do you know the height on the 305 pistons (pin center to crown)?
Whoa deja vu.

Right. You need .2" to make up the difference and you are adding .125" to the deck clearance. Since the 3x00 pistons are .020" proud to begin with - this leaves you .055" below the deck with that combination.Originally posted by 923.4v6 View Postwhat i'm thinking about is if you could use the 5.7 rod and the 3.5 pistons you would need .200 to make up the diff. of the rods and offset grind the crank for the exrta .200 of stroke. If the smaal end is the same that is.
