  • 3500 Tune?

Okay, I really need to know if there's a tune for a 3500 that isn't ridiculously expensive, or a one-way deal (send in your PCM, we send it back kind of BS). Any chips? Anyone try a chip for a 3400 or 3100 (are there any)? What about programming myself? What do I have to have?

check www.g6performance.com there are a few new OBD2 tunes for the 3500, not sure on gains though..

Yeah, both of their tunes are "pay for our tuned PCM and we'll send you one for $500 with a $250 core of course, oh and we don't want your PCM because you're a Malibu, so just send us $750, but we can't guarantee anything". Gains are AWESOME from what I hear though.

gains from ECM tuning on a stock engine are usually like 5-10 HP unless they're starting with a terrible tune. I know for a fact that a stock LX9 3500 when propperly tuned will make an easy 225 crank HP.. may be more. But that's on a fully mapped OBD1 computer.

a 3500 swapped beretta with a set of headers and an auto tranny just ran a 13.96, that's about 230 WHP/260 crank HP.

You don't use chips on these pcms. Only on the older obd1 computers. All the new stuff has flash programmable memory. You can load a new program into the computer as many times as you want, as long as you have a programmer for it. The only tuner available I know of only goes up to '04 cars with 3400's though. Nothing I know of for the 3500, or for the newer CAN based systems.

There is the 04 3500, which does not use the CAN system. It's where some of the tables came from that I am using.

The stock beretta 92 ECM. Aslyum is the one with the car. It's a blue beretta. You have a cam though so you'd need more tuning.

You would be better off having someone that knows these computers and engines tune it. GMtuners doesn't have the best track record with obd1 3400 and the 3500 won't be any different.

                        Here I am, LOL

Mine is running on the stock OBD-1 ECM, however it has a VERY modified chip.

It was tuned on a Moates Ostrich thingy, that quite frankly I know nothing about.

I don't know if Rodney is on this Forum, but you can find him at "3400Beretta" on Berettastuff. He's the guy who makes this thing run.

                        Or contact "superdave" on here.

He has a similar set up to yours (sort of) and is making alot more power than mine does.

i have the moates APU1. and i know nothing about tuning as well. i can burn a chip and swap between tunes while its running though. bout it.

ill contact him and hopefully he can help me out.

ive talked to superdave (or maybe it was just his name i saw up there a bit) a lil bit about this and other things for my motor.
