the 1.65 may be a good idea, that gives some a minor jump if they dont want to go so high, 533/586 on mine for example.

My lifts would be as noted above... And according to Ben I could support these lifts with my comp springs. My heads are unmodified so if they support 549/603 lift then I should be just fine.

itll all be in the measurement of how much lift you can use and what the max lift of your head is until you reach the land of diminishing returns you know

I would probably go for 1.65 set or 1.7 if Ben thinks that will compliment my engine more... What do you say Ben?

So here is a rough update from scorp...looks like we will have to wait until after PRI show to get the prototype rockers from them...they have too many projects just like we do...and if i can get more interest in them...they may get done sooner, but of course i need a price...ill see what i can find out tomorrow....

See my post above further up... Price of heads, having them checked/decked, and headgaskets would add up fast. And to put a fresh top end on a 215,000 mile bottom end? Eh, I'd rather spend that money towards a low mileage complete 3400/3500 ya know. Thanks for the offer though. This motor isn't getting opened up ever again, especially since it has metal intake gaskets now, no need to take the intakes off again. Oh and new timing chain and gasket, so yeah, it's run it till it dies, or I get a 2nd car, place to work on it, and an engine stand and hoist. lol

EDIT ^^ 3400 beat me to it. I don't know, I need to do a compression check. My friend with a 250,000 mile 93 intrepid V6 had great compression. So mine could be good too. Mine is a beast, even in this hot ass weather. I don't know what it is. I guess the BLMs are finally fully adjusted for the intake mods... The throttle is super touchy on the low end even with a 52mm TB on there right now. It just breaks the 225mm tires free super easy. I need to get rid of the stock exhaust and stock original catalytic converter! LOL

Now I'm curious what my compression is... LOL

Hey Ben, when are we gonna see what these rockers might look like? Will they work on stock springs?

200k+ on a lower end, a head swap isnt worth it... I doubt he is still getting 160-180 compression at all cylinders.

Yeah I'd love to have easy bolt on rockers for more lift/duration but it won't happen. I just need to take the oil plug out so the motor goes and I have a reason to put something better in, cause it sure ain't going to go on it's own accord! LOL

Early 3100s (93-95) didn't have the slot. There are SOME 95s with the slots, but most do not have them.

but i thought the 3100 had the slots in them...or am i on something?

on a side note...you could just center punch and drill a hole on each side of the bolt hole, then dont completely shave the alignment tabs off and still have some sense of rocker/pushrod alignment...i helicoiled the rocker hole on my car with the head still on the engine...and of course it was the back one, so that sucked. Then i used 1 tips to clean out the hole both after i drilled and after i tapped...that melling break in lube is some very sticky crap and worked great to clean all the shavings out.

gectek: I do have 3100 heads, cause it's a 3100 :P hehe. Cause I'm not gonna drop several hundred on heads and gaskets on this old ass 215,000 mile motor. When I could spend the same for a low mileage 3400. But I don't have a the means nor a reason to swap engines (still runs damn good) at this point so that won't be happening either.

Understood at the rate I am going I might have the engine mocked up by end of this year lol. So if the time scale is say 3-6 months then were good .
