Do you have headers or do you plan to have some fabricated? You'll need them to reach that goal without a power-adder.

        What motor? 3400, 3100, 3500???

I have a cam, 3400, with ported 3500 top end, 11.5:1 compression, headers and full exhaust. I should be 275-300 crank or somewhere around that. When the car is together I'll save up and take it to a dyno shop.

yeah headers would be a must, i was watching on muscle car TV they were dyno'ing a 409 SBC, they upgraded the headers to a over all 1/2 bugger and gained over 35 hsp for sure, but i think it was more, so theres alot to be had from headers, sorry for going off topic a bit.

Headers, 3500 heads, and a good dyno tune, and upgrading your injectors possibly and your good to go.

It is a 3100 build as far as I remember, so 3500 heads won't work. 250 crank or 250whp? Headers are certainly a worthwhile mod, which is why we are working to get as many applications covered as we have demand for.

I have the headers and its a 3100, just need to know if the parts I am choosing will be a good match and then what else would be needed to complete the build. 250 to the wheels or however much I can get to the wheels, 250 is a baseline if I can yield more then great.

Truthfully speaking I would rather go turbo but don't know what turbo to buy or how to make the manifold or attachment pipes. Hell it would be a sinch to hit 250 or 500 if I went that route.

Plus who does'nt love the sound of a spooling 50 trim lol!!!!!

with headers, a good exhaust and a really good tune it might.. depends on the trans though.

that might be hard with a 3100. might be farther ahead to start with a 3500, or 3400. pistons will be avalible soon hopfully for the 3500

Would I be able to run your super cam?, from the way you spoke of it seems it could give me the boost I need to reach the hp goal.

im telling you, driving a boosted 660 is an experience for sure. enough torque and horsepower to satisfy you.. until its not enough (which is the case im in).
