I've been running a turbo on my Monte with the LZ9 for a couple years now. Still on the stock engine....... Transmission on the other hand is a different story.

I will be undertaking a turbo'd LZ9 project this summer on my Impala. I've read quite a few good reviews on the LZ9 handling boost in stock form.
There's even a YouTube video of a Monte Carlo with a boosted LZ9.2006 Chevrolet Impala LTZ

No way, bro! That's awesome! I've been following your videos ... Was always curious what you went through to boost the 3900. Honestly, I always thought the 3900 was the bastard child of the series because it's like nobody does anything with them or even has a large aftermarket support ... then again, I may be looking in all the wrong places.Originally posted by bearbear3_4 View PostLol That's me.2006 Chevrolet Impala LTZ

I would say because of the lack of knowledge with the 3900 and the fact that a 3400/3500 can make enough power to make traction in a J-body a joke.Originally posted by Manic Mechanic View PostI've been wondering why there's none of these in a J-body. Will the 3900 bolt in with 3400/3500 style swap mounts? Or does it require it's own custom brackets? I understand the VVT and crank trigger issues.
