  • 3.1 inron head - 3400 crank swap and aluminum head

I'm aware this combination creates a really high compression ratio of like 14:1.
This is desirable to me even if I have to run high octane fuel + octane boost.

Has anyone done it? What are your experiences?
Bonus question, what did you need to do tuning wise.
    Thanks!

The 3.1 and 3400 crank are basically the same. Maybe roller fillet or something like that being newer vs older but the stroke is the same. We have been running high compression in the racing engines for a few years now. 15.7:1 is the highest compression we have ran. It ran on pump gas but reduced timing for sure. E85 loves high compression and is what I would do. The 3.4 DOHC pistons are what you need for the highest compression on stock parts.

Make sure to get a thinner head gasket for quench, as it really helps on the timing/tuning.

    What vehicle/computer?
