Dohc Parts Who Can Make It Happen???

i had so much luck with the teflon crank scraper. hell i'll throw the whole damn list out there and see what comes up

    titanium retainers & locks
7075 aluminum cam drive gear(96-97 version)
    poly engine mounts
    poly control arm bushings
7075 aluminum cam gears(96-97 version)- they can either be adjustable or stock copies.
lighter lifters(33mm) and/or anti pump lifters

if u can do it or know some1 hook me up. i can actually afford to develop 1 or 2 of these items.

can't get locks yet but the retainers I can for the comp springs. Bushings are something I want to do once I get the cnc lathe sorted out, as well as bronze valve guides.

BMR already has a stronger control arm with polyurethane bushings.
Adjustable cam gears IMO aren't worth it since the stock ones are already fully adjustable.
The titanium retainers some setups use may be lighter, but require periodic inspection and aren't really 100k mile parts... The S2000 ones can require replacement every 20k miles...
The engine mounts are a good idea. Do the current ZZP ones fit the earlier generations?

I'm not trying to shoot down any of your ideas, but reinventing the wheel may not be necessary and some of those could possibly come with some drawbacks.

Is it the design or just a higher fatigue rate on titanium? I wasn't aware of these issues.

BMR makes first gen w body control arms?

i didn't see any control arms w/bushings on bmr. i was looking for the front control arm bushings btw.

on the cam gears i did say either adjustable or stock copies.

i think thie zzp tranny mount may be interchangeable with the gen 1 autos but i am using a manual.

hmm didn't know the titanium retainers were such high wear items. certainly puts a new perspective on it. i thought titanium was stronger than steel.

do let me know more on those control arms, id be all over that.

but ya timg your insights are welcome. if it is true then you'll save me some dough.

            This is fun.

Titanium is stronger than steel, but it is also more brittle and does not have a fatigue strength IIRC.

I have no idea on front control arm bushings. It's a worthwhile challenge though!

I think on the Autos, some of the transmission mounts are interchangeable between generations.

I have heard that both solid and hydraulic filled transmission mounts are available from NAPA. Another cheap alternative is to drain the fluid and then fill the remaining space with liquid urethane. Many people do this on their dogbones and other rubber components. I saw some DIY instructions on it somewhere.

are the Fiero's manual tranny mounts anything like the W-bodies? there are a few sources for them. when i go home I can take a picture of my poly tans mounts, as they aren't installed yet.
              Something cool coming soon...

I think the 88 Fiero GT may have similar mounts.

Does anybody know if anyone makes a Kevlar timing belt that will work on our cars. I saw one for an eclipse and they are suppose to last longer.

very nice, looks like you have it "covered" already. while you are at it make me some aluminum cam covers.
