    2nd gear start

i have a 1995 monte carlo and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I need to know if my car has a connection for 2nd gear start. I have no idea what it would look like, and i have no idea where to even begin looking. I need to figure it out for a wiring harness. thanks for any help

Its not that, its a button or toggle switch basically that keeps it in 2nd gear instead of going to first on take off. Bad for the trans but good for traction in snow. Im actually hoping to turn that sucker into a performance shift button later on with a reprogram of the computer.

Im not sure what wire it is on a 95 but when/if we get the 95 cutlass shop manuals, I will look it up.

There should be a section for the wiring, with a page with each plug on it telling you what the wires are. 1 wire is for 2nd gear start, and when its grounded its activated in the computer to use the snow/perf shift tables.

from what I could gather from the GM big book is that some 4T60-E's came with that option and some did not. It talked about turning it on and off with a scanner.

On my spare cluster there is an unused lamp next to my low trac light that is marked (UP SHT) Any idea what that was going to be?

That stands for "Up shit creek without a paddle" for when your shitty spongy ass brakes don't stop you fast enough.

                    Personal experience, sorry.
