Ok, so is there a reason I can't buy three big self tapping bolts from Fastenal and use a regular harmonic balancer puller to remove the intermediate shaft sprocket? And is it ok to use an impact gun on the cam sprocket bolts? The heads are off the engine so I figured now is the time to impact the cam bolts if I can do it.

Sure, impact is fine to remove those bolts. For the cam drive gear, so long as you have 3 self tapping bolts and press in on the center, it should be no problem. Just make sure you have something to keep from pressing into the threaded area that the bolt cam out of.Ben

They will tap out perfect to 7/16-20 without any drilling at all. Then use your HB Puller. Don't use an impact here. No need to.If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.
