    help with o-ring repair.

so i as per this thread:
    http://60degreev6.com/showthread.php?t=37463

i ground down the top of the drive but i can seem to get it up past maybe an 1/8 of an inch. the grinding did nothing.

    anything i over looked?

i have pics but they are blurry so i'll post them if i need to.

    thanks

To do it right you NEED to take off the rear head. Otherwise you can just pop it up, clean the general area really well and then apply a nice layer of RTV. It'll hold up for a year maybe. It's up to you since it is your car.

Did you grind off the bottom of the head mounting tab? That is necessary. I hate this method of repair but if you like to gamble, it may work. I had no luck and will never try to do a shortcut on this motor again.

no it didn't say to. i guess you use the outline of the old gasket as a guide?
