What would make my fuel pump stay on after the key is off? Could my fuel relay switch be bad? It just started doing this today out of the blue.Thanks in advance Mike

yeah your relay could be stuck closed.
pull out the relay and see if your fuel pump stops. -
I am having this same problem with my 1988 oldsmobile cutlass supreme international with the 2.8 MPFI. I pull out the relay and the pump stay on humming, I pull out the 20 amp fuse beside the relay and it stops humming. With the fuse in I pull the plug out of the oil pressure switch (one terminal) but the fuel pump is still on and humming.Originally posted by cutlass supreme FE3 View Post
With the relay out, 20 amp fuse out and oil pressure switch removed, I use a test light and probe 87 of the relay and there is power. wtf? Is there another switch or something giving +12V to the fuel pump??Comment
