Question : Phony "New GM crate longblock" ???

I have found a "New, never opened, sealed" 3.4 crate longblock. Now it gets interesting; Though they claim it is new, never fired, and not rebuilt... It has block casting # 24503466 which appears to be a 96-97 block, matched with head casting #'s ending in 7472 which appears to be 94-95 heads... hmmm.. what gives here? Did GM poosibily mix and match during the phase out of the 95 parts and into the newer 96 in an attempt to minimize parts-waste? Or am i being lied to? Thanks guys.

No, not on eBay.... Any idea how these casting #'s could've happened on a legit crate?
