Anybody manage to take the engine and trans out the top before? Is it even possible?

Hmm, no ABS here. How long did it take to do it out the top?

Ben's black car also didn't have heads on the engine either when I helped him pull the engine and tranny out.

I just don't want to drop it out the bottom again, takes 6 hours 2 of which is taking the front suspension off.

I've pulled the engine and tranny together out the top before...no ABS, though, and still had to take the master cylinder off the booster. Even with this it was tight...the crank pully was rubbing on the right inner fender while the tranny was rubbing on the AC lines.

Cool. I dropped it out the bottom, I've done it enough times I can get it out in less then 6 hours that way.

Yea, I know what you mean....I just hate taking the subframe assembly out. Anytime the engine comes out it's through the top for me....tranny through the bottom...both, the top.

I pulled mine together out the top, no manifolds on and every accessory was off the motor. It was tough, we had to angle the motor to get it out, but we got it. The hardest part is getting the driver's side of the 284 to clear the bird nest of crap on the driver's side of the compartment.
