    3400 knock sensor

    hi guys im new to the site hopefully someone can be of some help.im wondering where the knock sensor is located on a 3400 in a 2000 chevy venture.i saw a similar looking one on the base of the engine but just want to be sure before i go pulling it out.thanks in advance

    Welcome. The KS is located just above the starter and next to the oil filter. The OPSU (oil pressure sending unit) is also in that area. The KS is short and wide (~1.5"), whereas the OPSU is slimmer and depending on the gauge config, can either be short or long.

        Well, a knock sensor has something to do with the ignition, basically to adjust (retard) the timing if it detects detonation in the engine.
