    head gaskets

Anyone know the best place to go for a head gasket set for a '97 3100? Autozone quoted me $150. I thought that seemed high. The motor will be replaced eventually, so they don't need to be top quality.

ebay has sets with the 2nd version plastic lower intake manifold gaskets. Head bolts are going to be $50.

Yeah e-bay would probably be your best bet. I assume your looking for more than just the 2 head gaskets right? The reason I ask is cause I think the price they gave you was for head gaskets, valve cover, exhaust, & intake manifold gaskets, etc., and even valve stem seals, depending on which brand you get. The head gaskets alone run between $8 and $30 each.

Thanks guys. Ben, you've gotta be sick of hearing from me. I think you've answered 4 or 5 questions from me in the last 3 days.

I had no luck finding a gasket set for my year on Ebay. All I found was 99-05 and 91-94. What difference is there between these kits and the one I need for my '97? Also, can I try to save money by just buying head gaskets and intake gaskets avoiding paying for parts I might not need?

The 99+ have a different lower intake gasket and a different valve stem seal set.
