AirPlane Gas?

someone told me to put some airplane gas in my tank to boost the octane now i know airplane gas is leaded right? just for curious wut would it ruin? oxygen sensor? cat conv? valves? i dont mean a full tank of it either just a gallon or 2. i put air plane gas in my escort like 11 yrs ago but i dont know if i was harming it or not?? lol any opinions..

a bit likely wont hurt. if you run it on a steady diet of it, its going to deffinitly foul the o2 sensor, cat, harm the valves and seats, leave deposits on the pistons, ect.

but why??? if you want to boost octane, throw in some 104 octane boost, or just run premium gas. besides, there is no point in running high octane unless you have very high compression.

What is Av gas anyway. Isn't it like Kerosene or something similar.

i heard it would cushin the seats, i dont have a cat. and my compression is pretty high maybe 11 or over.. oygen sensor on the other hand.. yea.. i might just make a home made octane booster i found on the net, u can get chem at a paint store

Hey, I got another idea. I work at a liquor store part-time, we sell this Polish "rectified spirit" vodka that is 192 proof (96% alc.). Why not try a bottle of that? LOL

and i thought everclear had a lot of kick to it.... thats only what 190 proof

also airplane gas straight might eat some of the seals in your fuel system

if you have 11:1 compression, premium (94 octane) should be plenty.

If you tune it and run a wild cam, you dont even need premium. That is with gen 3 engines anyway from my experience.

Jet fuel is like kero. Av gas is high octane gas that's processed a little more to remove more contaminants. It also doesn't have some of the junk they add to regular pump gas, like the detergents and ethanol.

ok thanks guys i m done with my engine pretty much i should post some pics. o yea i know with the gen 3 u can tune to run on some regular, i have a gen 2. but i dont have anythin to tune with
